Instituto Escola do Povo abre inscrições para novos alunos

Já estão abertas as inscrições para as turmas de alfabetização da Escola do Povo de 2012. No próximo ano, além do curso de alfabetização a escola irá oferecer reforço escolar, qualificação profissional e cursinho preparatório para vestibulares de escolas técnicas e faculdades.
Além disso, a sede da Escola do Povo com 3 andares e 1.000 m2 de área passará por uma reforma completa durante os meses de janeiro e fevereiro para melhor atender a população de Paraisópolis e ampliar o número de turmas e cursos.
No início de 2012 também será realizado a 2ª Edição do Leilão da Escola do Povo que terá como padrinho o maior atleta de todos os tempos, o Rei Pelé. Esse leilão já conta com peças de Romero Brito e a bateria autografada de Stewart Copeland, membro original do lendário grupo de rock The Police.
Com a formação das turmas de 2011, a Escola do Povo já alfabetizou 3.292 moradores e tem como objetivo alfabetizar mais de 12 mil pessoas nos próximos anos e tornar Paraisópolis a primeira comunidade a erradicar por completo o analfabetismo.
Para isso conta com o apoio de toda a sociedade tendo recebido, no último leilão, a doação do terno da primeira posse do ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva que foi fundamental para que esse projeto se tornasse realidade.
Hoje o projeto conta com mais de 30 profissionais, entre supervisores, professores, pedagogos e uma psicóloga, também já imprimiu 15 mil cartilhas necessárias para erradicar o analfabetismo da comunidade.
Em 2011 a escola realizou uma grande festa de formatura no CEU-Paraisópolis que contou com mais de 1.200 pessoas. “O dinheiro que arrecadei com o leilão das celebridades já está sendo usado.
